Life in the desert is intimately interconnected. Every living creature, every plant, every rock, seems to belong to a bigger picture. Award-winning children's book illustrator Ellen Alexander captures this Oneness with a Pony that brings together antelope, coyotes, rabbits, roadrunners, cactus and cliffdwellings under a starry sky. The interdependence of all living beings is the theme of this striking Pony, which was created by a retired scientific illustrator, author of several children's books and gifted woodcarver. With amazing fluidity, the different creatures that call the deserts of the Southwest home - lizards, antelopes, coyotes, roadrunner, turtles, hawks - seem to be united in a dance of colors and scenery whose whole seems greater than the sum of the parts. This pony was never released. It was manufactured and numbered as a test product in a limited run, but never released. It is not commercially available. | |||||||||||||||||||||
